Dracaena reflexa var. Angustifolia is part of the Asparagaceae family and its native range is the W. Indian Ocean.

Dracaena can reach up to 6ft in height. Due to the growth habit of the plant, lower leaves fall off as the plant ages, leaving distinctive diamond-shaped leaf scars on the stems.

Genus name comes from the Greek ‘drakaina’ meaning dragon. Specific epithet comes from the Latin reflectere, to bend back, this is in reference to the leaves.

Light: Bright indirect light, meaning the plant sees the sun for 0-4 hours per day - this could be through trees or a translucent curtain, it’s important for the plant to see the sky in order to thrive. Filtered light would also be fine for this plant.

Potting mix: A well draining mix composed of coco coir, vermiculite or gravel and horticultural sand.

Water: Allow the potting mix to dry out at least half way, aerate the mix with a few pokes of a skewer or blunt stick, pour water slowly over the top and allow the water to pass through the drainage holes.

Potting mix: A well draining mix composed of coco coir, perlite or vermiculite and horticultural sand.

Fertilising: Feed your plant every other watering during the growing season or when you observe active growth. You can dilute fertiliser to half the recommended amount but never add more.

Temperature: 18-22˚C.

Humidity: Average home humidity is fine although in their native environment they would experience between 60-80% humidity.

Dracaena are toxic, keep out of reach of pets and children.
