Philodendron verrucosum is part of the Araceae family and its native range is Costa Rica to Peru. It has a hemiephytic growth habit and setose (bristled) petioles. They inhabit rainforests of Central and South America. They're a climbing Philodendron with large heart-shaped leaves that are almost iridescent. These plants require a little more care than other Philodendrons

Genus name comes from the Greek ‘philo’ meaning loving and ‘dendro’ meaning tree. Specific epithet comes from the Latin verrūcōsus meaning 'that has a wart'.
