Scindapsus treubii is part of the Araceae family and its native range is Peninsula Malaysia, NW. Borneo, Java. This plant will shingle up the bark of host trees, laying almost completely flat to the trunk. It has a thick cuticle which suggests it’s able to hold on to moisture. ‘Dark Form’ has very dark green leaves that in some light, appear almost black.
There is some confusion about where the genus name comes from, it is possibly from the Greek ‘skindapsos’ meaning upon tree trunks.

Height: Approximately 20cm from base of pot.
Light: Bright indirect light, meaning the plant sees the sun for 0-4 hours per day - this could be through trees or a translucent curtain, it’s important for the plant to see the sky in order to thrive.
Water: If you’re giving your plant bright indirect light, potting mix ought to be evenly moist. The leaves of this Scindapsus tend not to curl when thirsty.
Potting mix: A well draining mix composed of coco coir, perlite or vermiculite, orchid bark and worm castings.
Fertilising: Feed your plant every other watering during the growing season or when you observe active growth. You can dilute fertiliser to half the recommended amount but never add more.
Temperature: 18-29°C.
Humidity: Scindapsus treubii would prefer humidity over 60%, this can be achieved by placing your plant on a tray of watered pebbles, by covering with a cloche or by using a humidifier.
Scindapsus treubii are toxic, keep out of reach of pets and children.
