Secrets to success
Temperature: Calathea need temperatures 18-23°C. Keep this plant out of draughts and cold air.
Light: These plants do best in an indirectly lit spot, they can handle some shade. Direct light would bleach the leaves.
Watering: Keep soil moist during growing season and allow the soil to dry a little in winter.
Air Humidity: Calathea love high humidity, dry conditions would lead to brown edges on leaves. Achieve higher humidity by grouping plants together, misting, using a humidifier and placing your plant on a tray of watered pebbles.
Fertilising: Feed every few waterings during growing season, dilute fertiliser to half the recommended dosage.
Re-Potting: Re-pot yearly to encourage growth.
This plant is non-toxic.
