Epiphyllum ‘Beavertail’ is a tropical cactus from the Cactaceae family, they grow epiphytically in tropical rainforests. Epiphyllum stems are leathery, sprawling and flat with lobed edges. Their native environment provides them with lots of warmth and high humidity and most importantly, shading from full sun.

Secrets to success
Temperature: Ideally between 15 and 20°C. Can tolerate short periods of 10°C.
Light: These plants grow in medium light with some shade - their natural environment is fairly shaded by dense rainforest canopy.
Air Humidity: They prefer higher humidity; this can be achieved by grouping plants together, misting, using a humidifier or placing your plant on a watered pebble tray.
Watering: During spring and summer water liberally and reduce watering in winter.
Potting mix: Use a potting mix with coarse sand and perlite for good drainage.
