Mandevilla Sundaville Series is a group of popular, evergreen, flowering vines cherished for their vibrant, trumpet-shaped blooms and glossy, dark green foliage. These Mandevilla cultivars are bred for their compact growth habit, continuous flowering, and improved disease resistance. They are ideal for adding a tropical touch to patios, balconies, and gardens, especially in warmer climates. They belong to the Apocynaceae family.

Origin: Mandevilla are native to tropical and subtropical regions of South and Central America. The Sundaville Series is a cultivated group of hybrids from Sundaville® is a registered trademark of hybrids of the Mandevilla sanderi, bred by the Japanese breeder Suntory Flowers Ltd.

Light: They thrive in full sun to partial shade. Full sun encourages the most abundant flowering.

Water: Water regularly, allowing the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.

Soil: They prefer well-drained, fertile soil. A quality potting mix designed for containers is ideal.

Fertilizing: Feed regularly with a balanced liquid fertilizer or a fertilizer formulated for flowering plants during the growing season.

Pruning: Light pruning can be done to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove spent flowers to promote continuous blooming.

Temperature: They prefer warm temperatures and are not frost-tolerant. In cooler climates, they are typically grown as annuals or overwintered indoors.

Support: As vining plants, they require support such as a trellis, arbor, or fence to climb.

Flowering: They bloom profusely from spring through autumn, producing trumpet-shaped flowers in a range of colors, including red, pink, white, and yellow.

Uses:

  • Primarily grown as ornamental plants for their showy flowers.
  • Ideal for containers, hanging baskets, and trellises.
  • Adds a tropical feel to patios and balconies.

Toxicity: Mandevilla contains cardiac glycosides, which can be toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
