Peperomia caperata 'Schumi Red' is one of over 1000 varieties of Peperomia, most of which are native to Central and South America. This variety is unique for its deep red colour, which is accentuated by the deep spines on its leaves. All Peperomia plants, which belong to the Piperaceae family are semi-succulents with similar care requirements. The most common are Peperomia caperata, obtusifolia and rotundifolia.
