Plant Bio

Philodendron 'Pink Princess Marble' is a captivating variety of Philodendron, known for its distinctive pink and green patterned leaves. This cultivar displays a marbled effect where pink and lighter green hues blend, resulting in a unique and decorative appearance. It is a vining plant that can bring a touch of colour and sophistication to indoor settings. It is a member of the Araceae family.

Genus name comes from the Greek ‘philo’ meaning loving and ‘dendro’ meaning tree. Specific epithet comes from the Latin meaning blushing. 'Pink Princess Marble' refers to the plant's pink coloration and the marbled pattern on its leaves.

Light: Bright indirect light, meaning the plant sees the sun for 0-4 hours per day - this could be through trees or a translucent curtain, it’s important for the plant to see the sky in order to thrive.

Water: Allow the first 2-3 inches of mix to dry out, pour water slowly over the top and allow the water to pass through the drainage holes. Ensure the pot allows water to drain freely to prevent overwatering.

Potting mix: A well draining mix composed of coco coir, perlite, orchid bark and worm castings.

Fertilising: Feed your plant every other watering during the growing season or when you observe active growth. You can dilute fertiliser to half the recommended amount but never add more.

Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures, ideally between 18°C to 27°C.

Humidity: Benefits from higher humidity levels. Consider using a humidifier.

Growth Habit: A vining plant that can be trained to climb or allowed to trail.

Toxicity: Like other Philodendrons, 'Pink Princess Marble' is toxic if eaten, so it's important to keep it away from pets and young children.
