Senecio stapeliiformis (sometimes called Kleinia stapeliiformis) is part of the Asteraceae family and is native to South Africa. This plant is sometimes called 'Pickle plant' due to its pencil-like stems and soft spines.
S.stapeliiformis usually blooms in autumn and produces one large orange hawkweed-like flower.

Secrets to success
Temperature: At least 15˚C during growing season and winter temperature of no lower than 10˚C.
Light: Partial to full sun with roughly 3 hours of direct sun per day.
Watering: Water when soil has almost completely dried out during spring and summer. Water sparingly in water.
Air humidity: This plant prefers low humidity.
Fertilising: Feed with cacti fertiliser every 2-3 waterings spring-autumn.
Potting mix: Use a well-draing cacti and succulent mix containing pumice, sand and grit.
